AOIDC

The other day I became an official member of the Association of Oldest Inhabitants of the District of Columbia. This may sound strange to any of you who know that I just turned 31. Here's the catch. The AOI is open to persons over the age of 40 and has lived or worked in DC for over 20 years OR the descendents of qualified persons. Since I'm descended from approximately 5 people who qualify, I'm in.

The main issue for the AOI is reopening Pennsylvania Ave in front of the White House. It often surprises people when I tell them that up until Clinton took office you could drive in front of the White House. Now the only way to do that is on a segway. This is a cause I can get behind.
